Club History
The club’s origins go back to Runnymede Rovers in 1877. It was later reconstituted as Egham in 1905 and won the West Surrey League in 1921/22 before becoming a founding member of the Surrey Senior League. The club later competed in the Spartan, Athenian and Isthmian leagues, experiencing both promotion and relegation as the non-league pyramid changed.
The club ceased operating during the Second World War and was reformed following a public meeting on 9 December 1963, adopting the name Egham Town. A return to senior competition followed, with the club winning the Spartan League in 1971/72 and entering the Isthmian League in 1977.
After spells in the Isthmian, Southern and Combined Counties leagues, Egham won the Combined Counties Premier Division in 2012/13 and moved up to Step 4. A later period outside the Isthmian League ended with promotion in 2024/25, when the Sarnies won the Combined Counties Premier Division North under Jordan Berry. The club’s official history records a nine-point gap over the runners-up and an 11–0 home win against Hilltop during that campaign.
