Club History
Faversham’s football history stretches back to 1884, although the club played under a number of names over the years, including Faversham Invicta, Faversham Services, Faversham Railway and Faversham Rangers. The club disbanded shortly before the Second World War and reformed in 1947, entering the Kent League again. It moved to Salters Lane the following year.
The Lilywhites won the Kent Amateur Cup in 1957 and 1959, then captured Kent League titles in 1970 and 1971. The club won the Kent Amateur Cup three seasons in a row from 1972 to 1974 and added Kent Senior Trophy success in 1977 and 1978, including a league-and-cup double in 1977/78. It also won the Kent League title in 1990.
In 2003 the club collapsed amid financial difficulties, and Salters Lane was badly damaged by vandalism. Supporters, trustees and volunteers helped rebuild the club and restore the ground. Faversham returned to competitive football in 2005/06 and gradually regained senior status, a recovery that remains one of the most important chapters in its modern history.
