Club History

The Jammers bring together two Essex clubs. Maldon Town was founded in 1946 and won the Essex Senior League in 1984/85 before moving to Park Drive in 1994. Tiptree United was formed in 1933 and won the Eastern Counties League and League Cup double in 1981/82, later reaching the FA Vase final in 2001/02.

After Ed Garty took over Maldon Town in 2009 while also running Tiptree United, the clubs shared Park Drive and amalgamated in summer 2010. The new club repeatedly challenged for promotion and reached Isthmian play-off finals in 2012/13, 2016/17 and 2018/19.

The club’s standout modern cup run came in 2019/20, when Maldon & Tiptree beat League Two Leyton Orient away in the FA Cup first round. Newport County then won 1–0 at Park Drive in front of a club-record 1,876 crowd. The Jammers reached the FA Cup first round again in 2020/21 and 2025/26.

After a change of ownership in 2025, Kevin Horlock returned as manager. Maldon & Tiptree won the Isthmian Division One North title in 2025/26 on goal difference, finishing with 97 points and 97 league goals. They scored 118 goals in all competitions and completed an unbeaten home league season, earning promotion to Step 3.
