Club History

Erith Town were formed in 1956 as Woolwich Town. After reaching the Spartan League Premier Division in 1995/96, the club took the name Erith Town, reflecting its move to Erith Stadium and a stronger connection to its local area. The Dockers moved into the Kent League pyramid in 1996 and continued to build their senior standing through the following decades.

In 2017 new leadership began another period of development. In 2023 the club moved to groundshare at Bayliss Avenue with Sporting Club Thamesmead, supporting its longer-term ambitions. The 2023/24 campaign became a landmark: Erith Town won the Southern Counties East Football League Challenge Cup, the Kent Senior Trophy and the league play-off final, securing promotion to Step 4 for the first time.
