Club History

The club briefly became Whitstable Swifts in the 1890s before returning to the Town name.

Whitstable’s early history included spells in local competitions and a closure in 1904 before the club reformed in 1908. It returned to the Kent League in 1967 and worked to improve the Belmont ground and clubhouse. The club celebrated its centenary in 1985/86, with friendlies against Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace drawing large crowds.

In 2007/08 Whitstable earned promotion to the Isthmian League after a successful league campaign. More recently, the Belmont received a 3G surface and improved floodlighting in 2022. The 2024/25 season became a landmark: Whitstable won the FA Vase at Wembley, beating AFC Whyteleafe 2–1 after extra time in the final. The run captured national attention and brought a major trophy back to Kent.
