A strong period around the turn of the century included league and cup success, followed by promotion into the Northern Premier League system.

Barwell won the Northern Premier League Division One South title in 2010/11, earning promotion to Step 3. The club reached the FA Vase semi-final in 2009/10 and the FA Cup first round proper in 2015/16. These runs helped establish the Canaries as a recognised name in the Midlands non-league game.
