Club History
The original Bootle FC emerged in 1880 and became a significant force in the early years of organised football. The club was a founder member of the Football Alliance in 1889/90, finishing as runners-up and reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals. When the Alliance merged with the Football League in 1892, Bootle entered the new Second Division but withdrew after one season amid financial difficulties.
The modern club began life as Langton in 1953 and later revived the Bootle name. After a number of ground changes, the Bucks settled at Vesty Road in 2006. They won the North West Counties League Division Two title in 2008/09 and later returned to the Northern Premier League structure. The modern club’s record should be distinguished from the original nineteenth-century organisation.

Modern Bootle and the Town’s Football Heritage
Bootle’s football story has more than one chapter. The present club was established in 1953, while the town’s earlier Bootle FC was a nineteenth-century side that briefly competed in the Football League. Keeping those eras distinct helps visitors understand why historic records and modern club milestones may refer to different organisations.
The Berry Street Garage Stadium is the current home. Check the club’s latest fixture information for admission, entry, parking and facilities before travelling. Older online records may describe the earlier Bootle club or a previous ground, so use current club guidance for matchday planning.
