Club History

Three Bridges were founded in 1901 and joined the Mid Sussex Football League in 1902, winning it for the first time in 1907/08. Their first major cup success came in 1933/34 with the Sussex Junior Cup. The club entered the Sussex County League in 1952/53 and won Division Two in 1954/55.

The 1980s brought strong cup campaigns, including an FA Vase last-16 appearance in 1981/82. A clubhouse fire in 1993 disrupted progress and the club was relegated in 1996/97, but it returned to Division One after winning the Division Two League Cup in 1997/98. Three Bridges won the Sussex County League title in 2011/12 and reached the FA Vase last 32, losing to Gresley on penalties.

After a relegation in 2016/17, Bridges returned to the Isthmian League in 2017/18 by finishing runners-up in the Southern Combination Premier Division. The club continued developing its senior and women’s football and opened a new 3G pitch in 2025. The 2025/26 season, the club’s 125th anniversary year, became its most successful: the men won the Isthmian Division One South East title and Sussex Senior Cup, while the women achieved a league-and-cup double.
