Enterprise National League Weekend Preview: All Three Divisions in Action

The extended international break is starting but there is a full programme across the Enterprise National League, National League North and National League South.

With the league tables beginning to take shape, Saturdayโ€™s fixtures could bring plenty of movement at both ends of the divisions.

๐Ÿ† Enterprise National League

All 24 clubs are in action on Saturday, with Boreham Wood travelling to Solihull Moors looking to protect their position at the top of the table. Boreham Wood currently sit on 23 points from nine games, while Solihull Moors are at the other end of the table on four points.

Second-placed Southend United face a home test against Barrow, while Kidderminster Harriers welcome Yeovil Town in another fixture involving a side near the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Aldershot Town host Tamworth, Altrincham welcome AFC Hornchurch, and Harrogate Town take on Eastleigh.

At the bottom, Scunthorpe United entertain Hartlepool United, while Gateshead travel to Wealdstone.

There is plenty to look forward to in the North, with Hereford leading the way on 22 points after nine games.

The Bulls travel to Bedford Town, while second-placed Oxford City face an away trip to Morecambe.

Third-placed Macclesfield host Harborough Town, while Spalding United travel to fourth-placed Brackley Townโ€™s opponents? Actually, the fixture is Brackley Town v Scarborough Athletic, with Spalding travelling to Chorley.

One of the weekendโ€™s standout fixtures sees South Shields host Buxton, with both sides currently sitting in the promotion picture.

At the other end, there are important games for Radcliffe, Darlington and Spennymoor Town as they look to climb away from the bottom four.

Maidstone United sit top of the South after nine games and face a home fixture against Truro City, who themselves are currently in the play-off places.

Second-placed Weston-super-Mare travel to Farnham Town, while Dagenham & Redbridge welcome Hampton & Richmond Borough.

There is also an interesting clash between Dorking Wanderers and Braintree Town, while Billericay Town host Torquay United.

At the other end of the table, Walton & Hersham face a difficult trip to Farnborough, while Slough Town host Hemel Hempstead Town.

๐Ÿ‘€ Games to watch

There are several fixtures that immediately stand out across the three divisions.

Boreham Wood v Solihull Moors could see the league leaders tested away from home, while South Shields v Buxton is an important North fixture between two sides competing around the top end.

In the South, Maidstone United v Truro City has plenty riding on it, with both clubs currently occupying promotion/play-off positions.

Meanwhile, supporters at the bottom of the tables will be keeping a particularly close eye on the results involving Tamworth, Scunthorpe and Solihull Moors in the National League, and Radcliffe, Darlington and Spennymoor Town in the North.

With the season still in its early stages, there is plenty of football to be played โ€” but three points this weekend could make a significant difference to the developing league tables.

The road to Wembley continues as the FA Cup Third Round Qualifying draw has been confirmed, with 40 ties set to take place on Saturday 3 October 2026.

There are some intriguing ties across the non-league pyramid, with clubs battling for a place in the next stage of the competition and the chance to move one step closer to the FA Cup proper.

๐Ÿ’ฐ FA Cup prize money

There is plenty at stake beyond simply progressing in the competition.

The winners of each Third Round Qualifying tie will receive ยฃ5,625, while the losing clubs will receive ยฃ1,875.

For clubs operating at the non-league level, the additional revenue from a successful FA Cup run can make a significant difference, while progression also brings the possibility of even bigger ties and prize money in the rounds ahead.

๐Ÿ“… When are the matches?

The default date for the Third Round Qualifying ties is:

Saturday 3 October 2026
Kick-off: 3:00pm

If a match finishes level after 90 minutes, a replay is mandatory. Replays must be played on or before Thursday 8 October, with a scheduled kick-off time of 7:45pm.

Postponed first-round ties must also be rearranged and played by Thursday 8 October, while a postponed or delayed replay must be completed by Thursday 15 October 2026.

๐Ÿ‘€ Plenty of ties to watch

There are some particularly interesting contests scattered throughout the draw, including Macclesfield v Scarborough Athletic, Buxton v South Shields, Spennymoor Town v Chester, Brackley Town v Chelmsford City and Tonbridge Angels v Torquay United.

Further down the pyramid, Weymouth v SE Dons and Leatherhead v Hanworth Villa are among the ties that will attract plenty of attention, while clubs such as FC United of Manchester, Gloucester City, Dulwich Hamlet and Dover Athletic will all be looking to continue their FA Cup journeys.

With 40 ties, ยฃ5,625 on offer for every winner and the next stage of the competition within touching distance, the Third Round Qualifying promises another weekend of classic FA Cup action.
