A weekend on the Fylde coast saw us take in a game at AFC Blackpool in the latest series of Non League Review.

Aiming to review as many non league grounds as possible, collecting a pie, pint and pin badge along the way.
On arrival there is no doubt where you are with a huge sign above the turnstile and the admission prices displayed clearly.
🎟️ – Admission £6
Standard pricing at this level of the football pyramid.

🥧 – Pie £0
Sadly one of the first grounds to let us down on a pie this season. There were other options of burgers, hot dogs and chips. We decided on the chips and were left even more disappointed as they were not the best.

🍺 – Pint £5
A decent enough selection at the bar and we settled on a Mahou priced at £5. Not a bad pint, plastic cup as we took it outside and price compares on average to most other grounds this season.

📍 – Pin Badge £3
Amongst a few other souvenirs behind the bar we managed to bag ourselves the pin badge. Decent quality and at £3 real value for money.

AFC Blackpool 2-0 Maine Road
Not the best of games and as Mrs NLR described it “it’s a bit scrappy” was not far off the mark. Blackpool took a very early lead with a goal inside 5 minutes. A shot from the edge of the area was misjudged by the Maine Road keeper and it seemed to squirm through his hands and into the back of the net.
A penalty was awarded a few minutes before HT and was coolly dispatched to make it 2-0.
Despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half Blackpool held on for the win.
