Matchday 29 – Yesterday we made our first visit to the VanEupen Arena home of Vauxhall Motors FC.

🏟️ – VanEupen Arena
🆚 – Vauxhall Motors v Runcorn Linnets
🎟️ – £10
🍺 – £4.90
📍 – £4
🥧 – Complimentary

A special occasion yesterday as veteran striker Kevin Ellison made his 1000th career appearance. Of course he topped it off with a goal but unfortunately wasn’t enough as The Motors fell to a 3-1 defeat.

Really impressed with the sports club facilities here at Vauxhall and after paying our £10 admission we were kindly invited upstairs to try the hospitality and were treated to a delicious steak pie with mash, peas & gravy.

Another nice touch was a free Matchday programme signed by Kevin himself.

There is a paid bar where we opted for a pint of Poretti priced at £4.90 and we visited the club shop and picked up our pin badge for £4.

The match itself was an entertaining affair with Linnets taking an early lead and going into the break 1-0 up.

Just after the hour the moment everyone had waited for arrived when big Kev headed home an equaliser. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough as Linnets added two late goals, including a penalty conceded by Ellison to take home the 3 points.
