Club History

Boreham Wood FC was established in 1948 and initially played at Eldon Avenue before moving to Meadow Park in 1963. For much of their history the club competed in local and regional leagues before gradually climbing the non-league pyramid.

The turning point came under chairman Danny Hunter, whose investment transformed both the playing side and the club’s infrastructure. Boreham Wood rose from the Isthmian League to become an established National League club while investing millions into facilities and community projects.

Under Luke Garrard, one of the youngest managers in English football when appointed, Boreham Wood enjoyed the most successful period in their history. The club reached the National League play-offs on several occasions and made national headlines during their incredible 2021/22 FA Cup run. Victories over AFC Wimbledon and AFC Bournemouth saw The Wood reach the Fifth Round, where they faced Premier League side Everton at Goodison Park.

Today, Boreham Wood continue to punch above their weight despite operating with one of the smaller catchment areas in the National League.
