GLOSSOP NORTH END
What a week for Glossop, fresh from securing their FA Vase date at Wembley for the final, the team set about playing catch up in the league. With 4 games in 7 days and taking maximum points, Glossop now sit top of the NWCFL Premier Division.
Ashton put a massive dent in Runcorn Linnets title hopes with a tremendous 3-0 win away at The Millbank Stadium. The win capped off a good win for the club who had earlier in the week defeated Brocstedes tenant’s St Helens Town.
Another side playing catch up with three games in a week is AFC Darwen, however the side showed no effects of fatigue picking up maximum points with three wins from three as they look to secure a play-off place in the NWCFL First Division.
Radcliffe picked up their first away win of the season at a crucial time as they look to avoid relegation. A 1-0 win away at Harrogate Railway sees Danny Johnson’s men needing one more win to almost ensure survival.
Prescot are another side at the bottom of the table almost certain of safety after a fantastic 4-0 win at home to Farsley.
After the two sides above them both won, it was crucial New Mills picked up 3 points this weekend as they too battle relegation. A 2-0 win over Kendal might not be enough for The Millers come the end of the season, but they’re certainly not going down without a fight.
