STATEMENT FROM 1874NORTHWICH.COM
Following the announcement at the AGM in November that it was 1874’s intention to create an U21 side I’m pleased to inform you that we are in the final stages of the process of entering an U21 male team under the banner of 1874 Northwich FC for the Cheshire U21 league for next season (2015/16).

Board member Alex Dickinson, responsible for Youth Development, will act as secretary for the team. Josh Hoare, who currently manages a local U18’s side, will be manager ably assisted by his father Alan Hoare. Both are qualified FA coaches.

If our application is successful we will enter the division which currently includes fellow NWCFL teams as Cheadle Town and St Helens Town.

The creation of an U21 team will provide an opportunity for boys within that age group to continue their football progress in an area that is currently under represented locally. Additionally it will further strengthen our links within the local community.

Applications for funding via the Football Foundations ‘Grow the Game’ scheme have been submitted, and it’s intended that the team will be entirely self funded.

McDonalds also run a competition for Charter Standard clubs, in which fans votes can see a club awarded with £1,000 towards a new kit. We would be very grateful if after reading this you could vote for our club “1874 Northwich” under the Cheshire County FA region.
