Congleton And Vics Into Cheshire Cup Semi

Congleton Town and Northwich Victoria have joined Stockport County in reaching the semi-final of this seasons Cheshire Senior Cup.

Holders Northwich beat Tranmere Rovers 1-0 at Valley Road, while Congleton overcame fellow North West Counties side Cammell Laird 3-1 after extra-time.

Andrew Hurst and Ruiz Eder goals in extra-time saw Congleton through after the scores were level 1-1 following the 90 minutes. Scott McGowan had earlier drawn Town level after Tom Reilly put Cammell Laird in front on 19 minutes to force extra-time.

Michael Roddy scored the only goal as holders Northwich Victoria defeated Football league side Tranmere Rovers.

The draw for the semi-final takes place tomorrow (19/2/15) and will feature the three sides already through, Stockport County, Northwich Victoria and Congleton Town. While we await the result of Macclesfield Town and Crewe Alexander who play next Tuesday 24th February.
