Skipper steps up to take the managerial reigns.
Rylands FC are delighted to confirm that current Reserve Team captain, Kenny Rushton has taken over the vacant Reserve Team Manager’s position following a weekend discussion with Dave Parr, the club’s first team manager.
Now in his fourth season with the club and the winner of last season’s Clubman of the Year award, Kenny is looking forward to the challenge of lifting the side away from the lower reaches of the Cheshire League Reserve Division One adding “it’s not been an easy season so far, but the last few games when we have had a settled side has shown the potential within the squad. Hopefully with the inclusion of a few players, plus the introduction of players from our Youth Team squad, we can start to build a team that will start to climb the table”
Chairman Ian Finchett added, “Kenny contacted me a few weeks ago about the role and I look forward to seeing him in charge. His enthusiasm and commitment to the club since he joined us three seasons ago has been second to none. With the assistance of experienced people already within the club, I see no reason why he shouldn’t make a success of the step up into Management and I wish him all the best.”
His first job will be to appoint a new captain for his first game in charge which is at home to Poynton Reserves on Saturday.
