The weather took hold of the Cheshire Football League this weekend with most of the action postponed.
However we got some action, and here’s a brief round-up.
JA Walton Challenge Cup
FC Woodford continued their run of cup form as they finished 4-0 winners at home against Witton Albion Reserves. Greg Mathers added another two to his seasons tally, while Jonny Cavanagh and Harry Wheetman also hit home in a successful day for the Stockport side. Woodford now sit in second, three points behind leaders Malpas with two games in hand.
Reserve League One
Greenalls PSO climbed up a further place to seventh as they beat Middlewich Town 8-0 at Seddon Street. Ben McWilliams bagged a hat trick, while Paul Benns scored twice. Liam Leicester, Neil Sutch and Mike Forrest also scored as things continue to improve for the reigning champions. Things are starting to look bleak for Middlewich as they have only taken one league point this season, having played almost half of their fixtures.
