Cammell Laird 1907 FC reformed in the summer and after a few months, the committee of the club have decided not to sit back and rely on the on field success of the adult teams. On Saturday morning, Frank Fields MP and the ward councillors had a meeting with the committee and later on, the Mayor, Steve Foulkes attended the first team game against Oldham Boro in the North West Counties First Division.
During the day, the main focus was on how the club can achieve the FA Chartered Standard community status, to achieve this we have a 5 year plan we have introduced to bring youth football at every age group from under 6 to adults, for boys, girls of any ability and a plan to offer disability football across the Wirral area. We also discussed other issues affecting the Birkenhead area including youth football and how the Cammell Laird 1907 FC brand can help local children.
The discussions were very successful and opened many doors, the committee will be working hard over the next few months working with the council, and local businesses to achieve these goals to secure the future growth of the club and supporting the local community.
