Winners of this weeks vote and crowned Team Of the Week for week 23 are Prescot Cables.
Nominated thanks to their 3-3 draw against new Mills on Saturday, Prescot take the award in what was the closest run poll of the season so far. Only 6 votes separated them and Colne, with the lead changing hands a number of times in the final hour of voting.
Prescot take the award on the back of 3 straight draws, with the latest against New Mills being made more noteworthy having played almost the full 90 minutes with 10 men, when keeper Ciaran Gibson was sent-off before the first minute was up and replaced in goal by striker James Edgar.
However The Tigers showed the spirit of recent weeks which has seen them pick up fantastic wins against Padiham and Warrington along with credible draws against Droylsden and Burscough, to get something out of this game.
In-between the wins over Padiham and Warrington, were heavy 6-0 defeats against Clitheroe and Kendal Town, and you’d be forgiven for thinking that being down to 10 men and 3-1 down just after the half-time interval, another heavy defeat would be on the cards.
Not this time, Prescot fought back with goals from James McCulloch and a last minute equaliser from Jack Phillips, to complete a fine performance and a valuable point in what was a crunch match at the bottom of the Northern Premier League First Division North table, against relegation threatened rivals New Mils.
Prescot Cables have been added to our #TeamOfTheWeek Roll Of Honour:
