Stockport County captain Jamie Milligan has signed for Harrogate Town until the end of the season.
Milligan who had recently fallen out of favour with Hatters boss Alan Lord, leaves the club after a 9 month spell, which included him taking the captains armband this pre-season.
He took to Twitter once the news had broke to issue a thanks to County fans, who he described as ‘Proper Fans’. Also stating that he was ‘Gutted to be leaving, and hoping to return one day’.
County manager Alan Lord says himself and Milligan had held discussions over the past few days, admitting there has been several offers for the player with the latest from Harrogate being accepted.
Lord thanked Milligan for his contribution during his time at Edgeley Park and wished him well for the future. Also reassuring fans he is looking for reinforcements and will continue to do so.
Milligan goes straight into Harrogate’s squad for their game today, away at Guiseley.
