The Cheshire League would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Steve Lloyd and his management team of Mike Alcock and Warren Hill, following their resignation as Cheshire League Inter League management

Steve took over the League side in 2009 and started to rebuild the squad in preparation for the FA Inter League Cup campaign that season.

HIs methodical and careful assessment of players in the League lead to the team reaching the semi-final of the FA Inter League Cup in 2012 versus Jersey. It was a marathon match which the team lost on penalties, having dominated all but the first half of the match. The League team concluded that season by also beating the West Cheshire League in the Cooper-Smith Trophy.

2012/13 saw the launch of the North West Inter League Cup (now named the Jeff Walton Memorial Cup) and under Steve’s leadership, the team stormed to a 5-0 win in the Final at Chester FC’s ground versus the Manchester League. He also took the team to the 2013/14 Final at Warrington Town, but lost out to the Lancs and Cheshire League. His time with the Inter League side can be considered a success

He now moves on to Eccleshall FC in the NWCFL Division 1 with our best wishes!
