Stockport Sports Statement

Stockport Sports chairman Wayne Ashworth has asked me to issue the following statement.

Due to contractual problems with landlords Life Leisure at Stockport Sports Village, it was agreed very late last night with the NWCFL emergency management committee that they would be using Abbey Hey FC as an emergency groundshare for today’s game against Colne FC. Unfortunately due to the bad weather, this has been postponed, hence the confusion of the all weather pitch postponement.

Stockport Sports will be releasing more info on their Twitter page: with more developments over the coming weeks expected.

  1. It’s a disgrace that an eststablished football club with a 99 year lease has been hoodwinked by so called saviours to having to pay over 300 pounds a game to play on their OWN GROUND
