Stalybridge Celtic have today appointed Mark Atkins as the new assistant manager, replacing Andy Fearn at Bower Fold.

It was only announced this morning that Fearn had left his position, and Celtic have moved swiftly in replacing him with Mark Atkins.

Atkins returns to Bower Fold hoping to turn around the clubs recent fortunes and to assist manager Keith Briggs in helping to keep them up.

Speaking to some Celtic fans, they say they are delighted Atkins has returned and are hoping that the clubs form will now change, with manager Keith Briggs having a wealth of experience to call upon.

Adding ‘having a Premier League Champion in the dressing room will be great for the lads to learn from every day in training’.

It’s also great news for the fans too as himself and John Reed have been held in high regard since they left. Hopefully this will get the terraces bouncing again after some difficult times as of late.
