Due to the bad weather we had a very depleted schedule this weekend.
Gamesley finished 3-2 winners over local rivals in our only premier league fixture thanks to a brace from Mike Dewhurst and another from Nathan Aldred. The win moves Gamesley up to eighth spot, a point behind Whaley in seventh.
Middlewich Town moved up to eighth spot after winning 4-0 at home against Maine Road Reserves. Steve Rowlands (2) Chris Lunn and Carl Wade all scored in the first half to stun Maine Road and secure victory for the Seddon Street side.
Congleton Vale extended their lead at the top to four points as they won 4-3 away at Daten despite going 1-0 down after only 2 minutes to an Adam Whitty strike. Richie Booth brought Congleton back on level terms in the 13th minute and three minutes later, Jordan Erdmann turned the tables to put the away side 2-1 ahead. Jack Challinor equalised for Daten in the 38th minute to put the sides level going into the break but Erdmann made it 3-2 from the penalty spot in the 56th minute to restore Congleton’s lead. Dave Wright again drew Daten back level as the sides continued in an end to end battle but Erdmann was in form again and secured the game in the 78th minute, making it 4-3 to Congleton.
JA Walton Cup
Wythenshawe Town continued their unbeaten run as they beat Golborne Sports 5-2 at home. Scott Walker scored two second half goals for Golborne but Wythenshawe were in fine form and hit home through Ben Brooks (2) Ash Woodhead, Jamie Dickinson and Remy Williams.
A single headed goal from Dave Willets as he found the end of a Sean Willott cross was all that separated FC Woodford as Moore United finished 1-0 winners in the only league two clash.
