Stockport County 3-0 Hednesford Town
County earned their seventh straight home league win in emphatic style following a 3-0 win over play-off rivals Hednesford Town, although the scoreline suggests the game wasn’t as close as it could have been. Hednesford were certainly in the game for most parts and even dominated the opening exchanges, before Scott Spencer carried on where he left off last week finding the net for the opening goal on 22 minutes, he latched on to an Andy Owens pass and finished well past the keeper.

County then took hold of the game and made it through to the break one goal to the good, where manager Alan Lord was then forced into a change as new signing Andy Owens was forced off and Chris Sharp returned from suspension.
Stockport killed the game off in 5 second half minutes with Richie Baker grabbing his sixth league goal of the season following great work by Lee Stevenson down the left, he robbed the ball from the defender and squared the ball into the path of Baker and he duly smashed home.
Five minutes later County killed the game off when the ever troublesome Scott Spencer was bundled over in the box and captain Jamie Milligan stepped up to send the keeper the wrong way from the resulting penalty and send County into the play-off positions for the first time this season.
